Job Description:

The company will bring on stream an additional 2.5 million t/y of polyolefins under its initiative, the next phase of its expansion plans manufacturing capacity. In addition to enhancing its Borstar® technology-based polypropylene and polyethylene offer, this major expansion to be completed at the end of 2013 will include the production of low density polyethylene (LDPE) production capacity to meet the specific needs of the rapidly growing wire and cable infrastructure market

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be part of the Operations team and will be responsible for:

  • Gives support to operations on, DCS and MES Systems on process related subjects with a focus on control & Advanced Process systems to meet operation targets on volume, quality, product transitions and start-ups / shutdowns.  Participates in the planning and implementation of all system modifications, expansions and installations.
  • Assisting and supervising detailed engineering at selected contractors' office. Specialising in process and control system design.
  • Assisting and supervising selected vendor for control system construction, testing, precommissioning / commissioning work at vendor's offices and Ruwais.
  • Planning and writing operational procedures for control systems in Abu Dhabi / Ruwais.
  • Training operational / maintenance staff in control system.
  • Assisting and supervising trouble-shooting of control & Advanced Process systems.
  • Developing control systems of LDPE unit.
  • Representing LDPE in Borouge IT&A group.

About you:
As a successful candidate you will have:

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical or Process Control Engineering, or relevant field.
  • Minimum 6 years work experience in LDPE plants, including 3 years in a Process Control Engineer / Specialist position.
  • Good knowledge of LDPE Process Control. 
  • Ability to speak, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Good analytical & leadership skills.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Proficient in the use of computer, i.e. MS Office
