Senior Specialist - Category Management

Contract: 12 months 
A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, engineering, Finance.
Several years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
Proven track record of success in managing procurement categories and achieving cost savings.
Procurement Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of procurement processes, best practices, and industry trends.
Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing procurement activities.
Experience in managing procurement projects from initiation to completion.
Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams.
Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts to ensure they align with organizational goals and standards.
Category Expertise:
Expertise in managing specific procurement categories and optimizing the supply base within those categories.
Ability to analyze market trends and conditions within the assigned category.
Negotiation Skills:
Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers while maintaining positive relationships.
Proficiency in developing and analyzing cost models to understand total cost of ownership and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Experience in developing and implementing negotiation strategies.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
Experience in evaluating supplier performance and implementing improvements.
Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex procurement issues and find effective solutions.
Ability to use data and analytics to make informed decisions.
Skill in developing criteria for evaluating potential suppliers, conducting supplier assessments, and selecting the best partners for the organization.
Communication Skills:
Strong communication skills to convey sourcing strategies, negotiate effectively, and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Technology Proficiency:
Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
Ability to adapt to and leverage technology for efficient procurement processes.
Strategic Thinking:
The ability to think strategically and align procurement activities with overall organizational goals.
Experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies.
Commitment to ongoing process improvement, including identifying and implementing efficiencies in the strategic sourcing process.
Relevant certifications such as Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) can be advantageous.
