We are currently recruiting for Senior Technology Engineer / Virtualization Engineer for a leading Bank in Dubai. The person will be accountable for the overall delivery activities such as Design, Development, Implementation, Standardization, Automation and Capacity Planning. The ideal candidate is also expected to automate the requirements of the platform in infrastructure as code way and take accountability of the end-to-end solution. The role is expected to have discussions with Technical and Solution Architects to find optimal solution to a problem and implement it based on the infrastructure and project requirements

Responsibilities and Duties
- Drive projects to move the non-compliant products into the standard stack.
- Automate the installation and configuration of standard stack items.
- Perform code review of peers
- Establish the product backlog that require to be addressed on 2-week sprints.
- Drive backlog projects to completion with infrastructure as code approach.
- Continuous R&D and vendor engagement.
- Automate the installation to achieve Zero touch unattended deployment.
- Review all housekeeping activities and identify key processes that should be automated.
- Introduce Open-Source technologies into standard technology stack
- Design solutions that cater for enhancing the operational stability.
- Address Problem tickets, Risk and Audit items in the products backlog.
Desired Candidate
- The candidate should have at least 10 years of experience at a relevant technical position in large organizations with hands on automation knowledge
- He/ She should have In-Depth knowledge and Strong Understanding in VMware Virtualization Technologies & Suite of products. (VCAP level – Design & Architecting Experience)
- He/ She should have excellent hands-on experience in configuration management, orchestration, automation and IaC tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform)
- He/ She should have good knowledge in X86 Architecture, NUMA, Memory Performance, PCIe
- He/ She should have good understanding of Linux internals (Preferable RHEL / Ubuntu)
- He/ She should have strong understanding and knowledge on Virtualization Networking, L2/L3 Fundamentals and Overlay Networking – NSX, OVN
- He/ She should have comprehensive understanding in Linux, DevOps / SRE, IaC and 12 Factor Principles
- He/ She should have Strong understanding of Open-Source Hypervisor and Container Orchestration Technologies (KVM, Kubernetes, Kubevirt)
- He/ She should have hands on experience on Physical x86 servers (Must HPE and Lenovo), Infrastructure Management Tools (HPE OneView and Lenovo Xclarity), Chassis and hardware components
- He/ She should have strong understanding of OS Compliance Policies (CIS Benchmark)
- He/ She should have knowledge in Agile methodologies and its ceremonies
- Candidates from baking background is preferred
Education
- Bachelor of Computer Science or Equivalent
- The VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization Design or Equivalent
